ASTM A841 specifies requirements for steel plates produced by the thermomechanically controlled process (TMCP). The standard covers steel plates produced by the TMCP method, which consists of rolling reductions and cooling-rate controls to achieve mechanical properties in the finished plate that are comparable to those obtained by conventional rolling and heat-treatment processes (reheating after rolling).
