The EN10025 standard ensures the quality and performance of structural steel products, enabling them to meet the needs of a wide range of engineering and construction projects.
The following are the main application fields of EN10025:
Oil and gas industry: used in the manufacture of oil and gas pipelines, storage tanks, drilling platforms and other equipment, especially in applications requiring improved resistance to atmospheric corrosion.
Shipbuilding: for hull structural materials, providing good strength and lightweight properties to improve the ship's load carrying capacity and fuel efficiency.
Pressure Vessel and Tank Manufacturing: For the manufacture of equipment such as LPG storage tanks, particularly in applications where improved resistance to atmospheric corrosion is required.
Structural design: In accordance with Eurocode 3 (EN1993-1-1), the nominal values of yield strength and tensile strength of structural steels in the EN10025 standard are used for structural design and these values are simplified from Table 3.1 of EN1993-1-1.
Hot-rolled structural hollow sections: EN 10025 also includes technical delivery requirements for hot-rolled structural hollow sections, which are widely used in building and engineering structures.
Cold formed welded structural hollow sections: EN 10025 also applies to cold formed welded structural hollow sections, which are also widely used in building and engineering structures.
