Production process
The production process of hot rolled carbon steel coil mainly includes the following steps:
Raw material preparation: usually use continuous casting slabs or primary rolled slabs as raw materials, the thickness of the slab is generally 130-300mm.
Heating: the slab is put into a step heating furnace and heated to a certain temperature.
Descaling: Remove the iron oxide on the surface of slab by high pressure water descaling box.
Roughing and finishing: the slabs are rolled through roughing and finishing units to form steel strip of the required thickness.
Laminar cooling: The hot strip from the last mill of the finishing mill is cooled to the set temperature by a laminar cooling unit.
Coiling: The cooled steel strip is coiled into steel coils by the coiling machine.
Finishing: According to the customer's demand, the steel coil can be processed into steel plate, flat coil and longitudinal cut steel strip products through levelling, straightening, cross-cutting or longitudinal cutting and other finishing operations.
Performance Characteristics
High strength: hot rolled carbon steel coils have high yield strength and tensile strength, for example, the yield strength of ASTM A36 carbon steel coils is 235 MPa, and the tensile strength is 360 to 510 MPa.
Good ductility: It shows good plasticity and ductility during processing, and is easy for cold bending, stamping and other processing.
