Forged Bar is a metal bar manufactured through the forging process. Forging is a manufacturing process in which metal is shaped by localised compressive forces, usually involving the heating of a metal billet to a malleable state and then machining it to the required size and shape by hammering or pressing.
Manufacturing process:
Heating: The metal billet is heated to a high temperature to bring it to a malleable state.
Forging: The billet is machined to the desired size and shape by hammering or pressing. The forging process usually achieves a compression ratio of at least 3:1 to ensure grain refinement.
Subsequent treatment: Depending on the requirements, the forged bar may require heat treatment to optimise its mechanical properties.
Applications:
Aerospace: for manufacturing engine components, landing gears, etc.
Automotive manufacturing: for the manufacture of crankshafts, connecting rods, gears and other key components.
Heavy machinery: for the manufacture of shafts, gear shafts, hydraulic components, etc.
Energy industry: for the manufacture of oil drilling rods, valve components, etc.
