Stainless steel 443 is a type of ferritic stainless steel commonly used to replace 304. It has weaker processing performance than 304, but is cheaper. It is widely promoted in the fields of electrical appliances, utensils, kitchen equipment, elevators, ovens, and more
443 stainless steel improves its corrosion resistance by increasing Cr, reducing C, and adding Ti. Improvement of pitting corrosion resistance: Increasing the content of Cr improves the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel substrate, and increasing Ti improves its pitting corrosion resistance. The increase in Cr content enhances the electrode potential of the stainless steel substrate, while Ti preferentially forms stable compounds with C in stainless steel, inhibiting the combination of C and Cr in stainless steel, suppressing the occurrence of Cr poor spots, and improving its pitting corrosion resistance. Improved thermal service life: Ti element preferentially forms C-compounds, inhibiting the enrichment of C towards grain boundaries in stainless steel under heating conditions, improving the thermal service life of stainless steel, and enhancing its intergranular corrosion resistance and thermal stability.
