Flame knife cutting is usually referred to as flame cutting, which is a process that uses a high temperature flame to cut metal.
Working Principle:
Flame cutting is to make use of the high temperature flame produced by mixing combustible gas (such as acetylene, propane, natural gas, etc.) and oxygen to heat the metal to the ignition point, and then make the metal oxidise violently and release the heat through the high-speed oxygen flow, meanwhile blowing off the slag of oxides, so as to achieve the cutting.
Main features:
Wide range of application: flame cutting is suitable for cutting a variety of carbon steel and mild steel, cutting thickness range from 1 mm to 1.2 metres.
Low cost: flame cutting equipment costs are relatively low, and it is a cost-effective means of cutting thick metal plates.
Large heat-affected zone: Compared with plasma cutting, flame cutting has a larger heat-affected zone, which may lead to thermal deformation.
High operation technology requirements: in order to ensure the cutting quality and efficiency, the operator needs to have certain technical experience.
