Classified by structural form:
Frame structure: a structural system consisting of steel beams and columns connected by rigid or articulated connections. Frame structure is widely used in industrial plants. This structural form has the advantages of flexible space arrangement and convenient construction.
Truss structure: A lattice structure made of rods connected by nodes. The rods of truss structure mainly bear axial force and can effectively use materials. In bridge engineering, truss bridge is a common form.
Grid structure: A space grid structure composed of many rods according to a certain law. It has the characteristics of large spatial rigidity and good integrity. In the roof structure of large stadiums, exhibition halls and other buildings, the mesh frame structure can achieve large span coverage.
Classification by material:
Ordinary steel structure: mainly use ordinary carbon steel or low alloy high strength steel. The strength of ordinary carbon steel is relatively low, but it is cheap and suitable for general construction and bridge projects. Low-alloy high-strength steel is based on ordinary carbon steel, by adding a small amount of alloying elements (such as manganese, silicon, etc.) to improve the strength and toughness of steel.
Weathering steel structure: This kind of steel has good weathering resistance and can resist corrosion in the natural environment. In some coastal areas or environments with serious industrial pollution, weathering steel structures can reduce the use of anti-corrosion coatings and lower maintenance costs.
Stainless Steel Structures: Stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance and beautiful appearance. It is mainly used in decorative parts of buildings with high requirements for corrosion resistance, such as curtain wall frames and decorative columns of buildings.
